The 10S Pro features a 50MP main rear camera with an OV50E sensor and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It also uses a 7P lens and is draped in an anti-glare APL coating. Writing for Tech Advisor, Martyn Casserly confirmed that while cameras are rarely the focus on a device like this, we have been steadily improving the quality of the images and video offered by our gaming phones. For Casserly, the main camera often got the best results and delivered some “very decent shots.” He was also impressed by how quickly the camera would focus and was pleased with the detail and vibrancy that each shot would capture. The AI algorithm in portrait mode was also a great improvement for him, as he got a lot fewer miscalculations where the camera mistook part of an object for the background.

Casserly also enjoyed the video capabilities of the 10S Pro, stating that the option to go all the way up to 8K at 30fps was great, but the 4K/60fps was the sweet spot for him. He found that the footage captured was always smooth, with colors well balanced, and solid focus tracking throughout.

For Matt Keith from CGM Tech, the main and ultra-wide cameras of the 10S Pro offered solid image stabilization and remarkable anti-glare capabilities. In testing, he found color capture to be vibrant, while image sharpness remained clean and clear. He concludes that while the 10S Pro was never marketed as a photo-centric smartphone, it still produces some impressive shots.

Keith was also impressed by the phone’s 16MP front camera, which he says performed well for selfies and, thanks to our integrated AI enhancements, would capture facial details with “impressive clarity.” He further noted that the camera’s AI enabled smooth, real-time filter application, which ultimately made quick edits effortless.

Keith also labelled filming with the 10S Pro as equally impressive, citing the phone’s support for up to 8K resolution at 30 frames per second. In testing, the camera stabilization, which is supported up to 4K at 60 fps, also performed reliably. For Keith, the final video quality was sharp and well-balanced, while the onboard microphones effortlessly captured clean and accurate audio. According to him, the 10S Pro offers an “excellent mobile camera setup” that would be perfect for content creators or casual users alike.
In a Pocket Gamer review, Cristina Mesesan expressed how she had witnessed the evolution of our REDMAGIC phones firsthand, and that none of them had amazed her quite as much as the 10S Pro. In terms of camera features, Mesesan stated that the back camera on the phone was one of the best she had the pleasure of playing around with.
She also enjoyed several of the phone’s custom AI filters for the sky, including ‘Milky Way’ and ‘Northern Lights’, and found them to be exceptionally fun. Her review went on to say that the pictures captured were top-tier quality, whether you have shaky hands or not. The auto image stabilizer also helped her a lot in that aspect, reducing any blur or distortion.

In his review, he went through each of the camera modes, including time-lapse, star trail, starry sky, electronic aperture, full-size, documents, ID photos, and more. He also noted that the pro mode allows you to change your white balance, your shutter speed, your ISO, and many other settings. Flossy also tested out the phone’s selfie and rear cameras and was equally impressed by the results from both ends.
